Your Baby, on the Biggest Screen in the House

Nani 1.8.1 runs on Android TV and Fire TV. Put the nursery on your television, then get on with the laundry, the dishes, or that assignment you have been avoiding - without losing sight of your little one.
A phone is a very small window
A phone works. It also lives in your pocket, buzzes with messages, and has to be picked up, unlocked and squinted at every single time you want a look. When your hands are full of folded towels, that is exactly the moment you cannot check.
A television is already in the room you are working in, already switched on, and already the size of a window. Glance up, see your baby, carry on.
Set it up in about a minute
- 1
Install Nani on the TV
Android TV from Google Play, Fire TV from the Amazon Appstore. Search for Nani, or open the store page on your phone and send it to your device.
- 2
Your TV shows a QR code
Televisions have no camera, and typing on a remote is nobody's idea of a good time - so Nani skips both. The TV simply displays a code.
- 3
Scan it with your phone
Open Nani on the phone watching the nursery and point it at the screen. That is the pairing done. The TV joins the devices you already have.
What it actually feels like
Vacuum running, radio on, baby asleep two rooms away - and there she is in the corner of the screen, breathing. You are not checking a device. You are just looking up now and then, the way you would if the door were open.
Cooking dinner, folding a mountain of clothes, finally getting through a chapter of coursework: the jobs that need both hands are exactly the jobs a pocket-sized monitor is worst at. That is the gap the big screen fills.
Worth knowing
The TV is the parent side. Most televisions have no camera, so the TV shows the video while a phone or tablet in the nursery captures it. If your TV does have a camera, it can do either job.
Turn the quality up. A big screen earns it - Nani streams SD, HD, Full HD and 4K UHD, so pick whatever your connection can carry.
No second purchase. The TV joins the devices you already have and shares the subscription you are already paying for.
Keep your phone nearby. Sound and motion alerts still arrive on your phone, so you stay covered when you leave the room.
